Fenghuang Ancient Town was unveiled as a 5A-level tourist attraction in Fenghuang County of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on October 20.
5A is the highest level of tourist attractions in China. At present, there are 339 5A-level scenic areas in the country, including 12 ones in Hunan. A 5A-level scenic area has reached the national top level in terms of software and hardware construction and management services.
There is a constant stream of tourists in Fenghuang Ancient Town. The recognition of the scenic area as a 5A-level scenic area has further advanced the development of the cultural and tourism industry in Fenghuang County.
Fenghuang County has released the first national group standard for the travel photography industry to guide the standardized development of the industry. As of now, there are over 1,000 travel photography stores in Fenghuang Ancient Town, with more than 5,000 employees and a comprehensive annual output value of about 500 million yuan.
From January to September this year, the scenic area received 17.234937 million domestic and foreign tourists, and generated a tourism revenue of 16.4 billion yuan, an increase of 10.77% and 8.97% year on year respectively.
